It’s one of the Sunshine Coast’s most coveted development sites and First Bay Coolum has already captured the attention of plenty of home hunters across the region, despite being weeks away from its release to market.
Sharing its name with the popular beach it overlooks, the new 24-apartment development has already recorded over 100 expressions of interest – a figure project architect Ken Down attributes largely to the iconic coast location.
“Whether it’s memories of days spent surfing, exploring the rock pools or building sand castles as a child, First Bay holds a special place in the hearts of many Sunshine Coast locals,” Mr Down said.
“There’s something «out the pandanus-lined cliffs and familiar coffee rock landscape that really sets First Bay apart as a favourite hideaway among locals.”
Mr Down — who has taken home a swathe of awards for previous projects — said he had originally been captivated by First Bay’s charms as a keen surfer some years ago.
“I spent my early teens surfing the Sunshine Coast breaks and fell in love with First Bay, so it will always remain one my favoured beach havens,” he said.
“It’s those memories that really drew me to working alongside developers Mel and Gill Luke to create a legacy worthy of this magnificent site.”
“We could have achieved a far higher yield on the site by increasing the number of units in the design, but our focus has ultimately been on creating beautiful, liveable apartments that really capitalise on the magnificent scenery and appeal to owner occupiers.”
“We don’t underestimate how truly special the First Bay ocean backdrop is and have made every effort to embrace this in the development design.”
Developer Mel Luke said the development was set to officially launch to market in late November, and he looked forward to officially unveiling the design concepts and floorplans at the launch.
“We are delighted with the initial response to First Bay Coolum. Many of those registering have been waiting a long time to secure a little piece of First Bay and are genuinely excited about the prospect of calling First Bay home,” Mr Luke said.
“A lot of heart and soul has gone into creating a development that will meet the aesthetic of the local area, as well as the lifestyles of those who will ultimately live there. These are not holiday units, they are all house-sized apartments averaging 200m2 which feature expansive balconies to enjoy the views or entertain family and friends.”
“We were delighted to receive approval of our Development Application last week so construction is scheduled to commence in December and we expect interest in the development will only continue to grow as we approach the launch next month.”
First Bay Coolum comprises of two buildings, architecturally designed to maximise ocean views and provide access to the central pool area, gym and landscaped gardens.
“Situated within a ten minute stroll along the timber boardwalk to Coolum Surf Club, esplanade shopping and café precinct, First Bay Coolum offers an idyllic coastal lifestyle to its residents…. all right on your doorstep!”
